Data Center
Where your data is housed
With almost 20 years of hosting experience, we have built the finest platforms and we host them in the finest data centres. These data centres are owned by our trusted data center providers such as Coresite, DDCL, Digital Realty, Equinix, GTT, Interxion, Lumen, NTT, Pulsant & QTS. This enables Rackspace in 32 different locations to be utilised by our network.

Redundancy Built In
Power
Power is a life-blood of a data centre and our core facilities utilise a diverse range of uninterruptable power feeds. With mains power bought from renewable sources only.
- 3KW allocation per rack via Diverse Mains Feeds
- N+1 Dual Eco '1.6 tonne' Flywheel/Rotary UPS Banks
- N+1 Dual Caterpillar 1500KVA Generator Banks
Networking
Our core network has a 2Tbps capacity with multiple
diverse connections to the outside world. With two or more connects, each location is multi-homed and self healing.
- All Major Internet Exchanges interconnected
- Local Networks peered with for the lowest latency
- Over 160Gbps DDoS protection
Security
We strive to ensure data security is never compromised with physical security a foundation to our security policies across our data centre portfolio.
- Full site CCTV with Gated Access
- Security monitoring against potential vulnerabilities
- Multi-layered security for comprehensive protection.
Cooling
We use a cold-isle containment using a mixture of DencoHappel and Liebert chillers deployed in a N+1 configuration to provide a combined 940kW cooling capacity.
- 30% power saving from cold-isle cooling
- Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA)
- FM-200 ecologically friendly fire suppression agent
Frequently Asked Questions
No, we rent capacity from other established, tier 3 data center providers. This enables us to have lower CAPEX costs due to not building our own facilities and lower OPEX costs by not operating these facilities.
We’re able to cherry pick the locations with the best network connectivity which complies with our standards and policies. We typically only rent a few racks at each location and have designed, built and operate a diverse cloud platform, bundling more actual servers in fewer physical machines.
We do this by enforcing policies across our business, such as ensuring our supply chain is enforcing our eco policies.
- Advanced Cooling Technology is used, saving over 30% in electricity.
- All mains power is from renewable sources only, such as solar or wind.
- Limit e-waste by auctioning off redundant stock.
- Encourage recycling and lift-sharing for employees.
Yes, our core network has security which identifies intrusions and attacks allowing our security team to swiftly lockdown any part of our network and remain in control. On top of this, many automated systems protect our network such as on-server WAF’s and off-site spam filtration. We’re security focused and your data security is our priority.
We own and control our network and the traffic which passes through with providers owning and controlling the physical connections between our servers and our peering and transit suppliers. This means we’re able to scale up or decommission fibres easily and with little cost, making it more cost effective to consistently build a better network.
